The outhouses and the Egg House serve as a reminder of the scale of the household in The House in past centuries. Pursuing his interest in ornithology, the master of the house sat smoking in the Egg House, while sheep bleated in the sheepshed and the dairymaid milked the cows in the first concrete cowshed in south Iceland. In the Egg House birds now glide overhead in an exhibition on nature, and stories of remarkable people are told. In the sheepshed visitors can sit down and relax.
