Þuríðarbúð (Þuríður’s Hut) in Stokkseyri bears the name of a famous seafaring woman, Skipper Þuríður. It is a reconstruction of the huts where fishers lived during the fishing season, providing insight into the living conditions of the crews of fishing boats in the 19th century. The building is cramped and dark, yet it has its own charm.
