The historical exhibition in Kirkjubær tells brief stories that stimulate the imagination. These were the interwar years, the 1920s and 30s, when the age of the traditional turf house was in the past and country folk flooded into the village, where they built themselves little wooden homes. Electricity, radio and rubber boots revolutionised daily life. In Kirkjubær the outdated butter-churn is stored in the basement; but where are grandma’s teeth?
